Mittwoch im Mariazellerland-Blog – ein Bild der Woche.
Zwar nicht mehr ganz im Mariazellerland, aber immer einen Ausflug wert ist die Wanderung entlang der Ois zur Oisklause. Die Naturfreunde Türnitz waren vor gut einer Woche unterwegs um die Frauenschuhblüte zu erleben. Ihr Weg führte sie auch zur Oisklause. Frauenschuhfotos wurden mir von Isabella Klaus ebenfalls übermittelt, aber Blütezeit unabhängig zeige ich etwas verspätet nur das wunderschöne Bild der Oisklause. Heilige Messe und Abschied von einem Mariazeller – Otto Habsburg.
Mehr als 1000 Besucher waren in der Basilika anwesend beim feierlichen Requiem für Otto Habsburg.
Bischof Egon Kapellari zelebrierte das Requiem, unterstützt von unserem Superior P. Karl Schauer, Bischöfen aus Mittel- und Osteuropa, sowie dem Wiener Kardinal Christoph Schönborn als persönlichen Abgesandten von Papst Benedikt XVI. Die Wiener Sängerknaben und die Stadtkapelle Mariazell untermalten diese Heilige Messe musikalisch.
Hausherr Superior P. Karl Schauer verlas das Beileidschreiben von Papst Benedikt XVI. und sagte außerdem, dass Otto Habsburg ein Mariazeller gewesen sei. Seine Ehrenbürgerschaft und die Verbundenheit von Otto Habsburg und seiner Familie zu Mariazell bekräftigen diese Aussage.
Diözesanbischof Egon Kapellari hob drei Wesenszüge von Otto Habsburg besonders hervor – „Er war ein herausragender Homo Politicus, eine tiefgläubiger, katholischer Christ und ein exemplarischer Paterfamilias“ (siehe Video).
Nach dem feierlichen Requiem wurden Otto Habsburg und seine Gattin Regina mit einer letzten Prozession um die Basilika in Mariazell verabschiedet. Zahlreiche Schützenkompanien mit Karabinern und Prangerschützen mit Böllerbüchsen gaben Ehrensalven ab, bevor die Särge von Otto und Regina nach Wien überstellt wurden – wo sie in der Kapuzinergruft, in der Nähe von Kaiserin Zita, ihre letzte Ruhestätte finden werden.
